    1. The author had me at “tennis ball.” I love dogs, and Warning Signs is delightfully and convincingly written from the point of view of a dog. The writing’s filled with that sweetly different sensitivity to light and shade, to smell and nature, and to the permanence and unchanging comfort of home. However, in fact it just like the first chapter of a short story it finishes just as the story starts, felt a bit cheated as would have got that as a sample from the book, instead I paid for it (ok, only 77p but still, some authors sell their whole books for that).As a reader you start the book with the thoughts of the lab'dog Lucky, although this is a little disjointed as you switch between the dogs PoV and descriptive text; ano [...]
