    1. When I first picked up this I expected something entirely different than what I received. First let me start by saying the author writes really well, he character development is very , very detailed to say the least, I also found the story to be inspirational , dramatic and sensual with a bit of mystery. Antonio kept secret that was the mysterious part but I felt Avery had a secret too her secret about her and Dean’s relationship. Dean was a charming character, who did not spend too much time [...]

    2. To Whom Much Is GivenCecilia CapersLet me start off by saying, Cecilia Capers is a very talented author and writer. “To Whom Much is Given” is the story of Avery, a successful female attorney who has worked hard to have the success she’s enjoying as an adult. Avery appears to have it all - beauty, a successful career, wealth and relationships that flow well the storyline. Being part of the ‘elite’ crowd doesn’t come without its problems, though, and before long, Avery finds herself f [...]

    3. All That Glitters Is Not GoldSometimes, even when things appear perfect and wonderful, they are the exact opposite. In Cecilia Capers' debut novel, To Whom Much Is Given, we meet Avery Benjamin, a 30-something with the world at her feet. She's beautiful, she's talented, she has wonderful friends, and she has a wonderful man in Antonio Dawson, a professional football player. Life is good. Very good. Except for that yearning Avery has, a yearning for fulfillment of dreams tucked away. When a forme [...]

    4. Disclaimer: I published this novel. However, no spoilers are below."To Whom Much Is Given - A Novel" by Cecilia T. Capers is a contemporary novel set in New York City. The reason I published this novel is because the storyline reflects diverse, modern, American life. The dilemmas faced by the protagonist can easily be faced by other women from her generation including balancing her professional and personal life, socializing and supporting her friends, and planning her future. Of course, there a [...]

    5. I am torn when it comes to this book. It's an interesting story but it's bogged down by way too much backstory for minor characters and, at times, a tendency to present Avery as a "Mary Jane" type character. I like the idea of Avery changing her professional life and that it's someone from her past who encourages her to do so, but it took so long to bring him in as a potential threat to her relationship with Antonio that I began to lose interest. Another thing that began to bother me was that to [...]

    6. I love a nice long book, but this one was extremely long for no good reason. I felt the first 40% of the book was wasteful. I really considered putting the book down. It was just a really boring read until that point. I finally hit a stretch where I laughed a little and thought ok this will finally pick up. Well it did but then hit another lull. Too my utter shock the story was unfinished when I got to the end, so I am assuming a 2nd book is floating around. Fortunately I will not be reading it. [...]
