    1. Joe Miller is an atheist, but that doesn’t get him out of his weekly coffee date with God. Joe’s grandfather offended Yahweh and earned his family a curse to the fourth generation. Joe represents the third, and wants more than anything to free his young son from the burden of listening to the Almighty gripe every week. As if that weren’t enough, Joe suspects his wife might be cheating on him . . . and some minor deities plan to oust Yahweh from power by starting an inter-religious war on E [...]

    2. This is first book I read by Benjamin Gorman, but I must say - he's one of my favorite authors now! And I really mean that.I expected to like this book, because I like the topic, but I had no idea how clever and funny and good written it is. It's a kind of book you need to read at least few times, because every time you'll find something new you missed first time. So many little details come to my mind and makes me want to giggle. I love the fork. I love the fork! And I love Isus kicking ass of [...]

    3. This book is both thought provoking and entertaining. I was engrossed in the story right from the start. Benjamin paints his characters so completely that it was almost like watching a movie. Good read.

    4. A fascinating, funny, painful, satisfying exploration of the nature of belief and our current social situation.

    5. A colleague and friend wrote a book I found quite interesting: The Sum of Our Gods. Quite detailed, complex, and thought-provoking. Sort of makes you think about a dimension beyond ours.Imagine Jesus and Mohammed and others conversing and living in the great beyond somewhere.Just like "The Shack," this book provides food for thought. It still is making its way through my mindanks, Ben Gorman, for providing another metaphor for the deity.

    6. Quirky and cutting, "The Sum of Our Gods" examines what it means to be divine, especially in a world where people have lost faith in many of our most cherished institutions. If you roll your eyes whenever you read a headline that starts with "Millenials are killing" this is the book for you.

    7. Welcome to the world of Benjamin Gorman. It is a world of traffic, roads, buildings and sky. Where people watch television, have affairs, eat bad food and argue among themselves. But the world of ‘The Sum of Our Gods’ is not ours, it only looks like it on the surface. Gorman’s world is akin to being inside a permanent spiritual Pepper’s Ghost; where the gods rub shoulders with the mortals, occupying the same space but doing so with stealth. Usually. This is a world where Jesus likes sour [...]

    8. The meaning of life takes on new meaning. The Sum of Our Gods is a riotous and convoluted journey through life and its meaning. The gods of the major religions and mythologies all have their intertwining roles to play in this modernistic version of Homeric personification. The scheming, backbiting and betrayals expected of the gods and their human pawns sets up one of the most brilliant and enlightened endings I’ve ever read. Masterfully brought full circle to a hopeful conclusion!
