    1. I loved this book. It was beautifully written, with descriptions of characters, setting, and situations that were so very evocative of the time and place. Each major character spoke in a "voice" that was authentic, from the Yorkshire man to the elusive character with his strange put-on accent. The story was interesting, characters likable, all in all a Good Read. I would put this in the category of "feel-good book", though it is not at all maudlin or fake.
