    1. I'm not saying it wasn't smarmy. I'm not saying it didn't carefully maintain the middle class status quo. I'm just saying I loved the fact that this was a true, old school, bodice ripper. The heroine was beautiful without artifice--eschewing the paints and wigs of the 18th century. She loved children. She was a vicar's daughter and a good Christian woman. She even loved the obligatory retarded kid who just needed a mother's love to unlock his winning personality. The hero was a hard working titl [...]

    2. Not bad at all. A lot of action. A madwoman as the villainess was intriguing. The romance felt a little rushed but not much. A lot of battering and god the way some woman can use break and ugh. But overall decent book
