    1. 5+ starsUs. Here. Like this. It changes everything we ever thought before about Ian and Alivia.**Don't read this if you haven't read HoR, mild spoilers ahead**Okay guys, as you recall, I LOOOVED HoR and was super stoked to finally get my hands on the sequel. And lemme tell you, HoP did not disappoint!PAWNS starts off right where the first one left off: Ian is now a vampire, and everyone has to deal with the implications of his resurrection. Right from the start, this novel hits the ground runnin [...]

    2. I don’t think I can wait until March to read the next book in this series. I’m freaking out!! I went to bed angry because I don’t have the next book on hand, that’s how excited I am. I devoured this book in one sitting. Just so good!! If you all thought Alivia was a badass in the first book you just wait until you read this one. Alivia takes it to a whole new level and slays! A war is breaking out in Silent Bend and the House knows who to side with. Let me tell you, things get down right [...]

    3. House of Pawns is the sequel to House of Royals and hot damn, Keary continues to make me want more and more from her books!! I had the amazing privilege of receiving an ARC of this awesomeness!!I really don't know how to write this review without giving any important parts of the plot away. So, I won't tell you anything about the plot except that Keary really knows how to build up the tension and leave you anticipating what happens next.Alivia is one hell of a strong heroine!! She is put through [...]

    4. I think I might have enjoyed this book more than the first (and I'm already 3/4 way though book 3). Alivia has certainly visibly maturing and her tortured relationship with Ian begins to make a noticeable metamorphisis. Her relationship with those around her perhaps is the result of the initiation of that inevitable process. Alivia begins to make more solid relationships with the characters of the township, and this also develops her overall immersion into the life she is becoming bound to.

    5. Originally posted on Paranormal Sisters: paranormalsisters*Was given a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review*Oh my god, what a brilliant sequel! I was totally behind every move Alivia made, she knew what she had to do and did it, without backing down. But I was also behind Ian on him not wanting her to go too far but I also understand that in this world she fell into that she has to go to some pretty dark places if she wants to survive in this world. Alivia is such a badass, ohmi [...]

    6. It's been a long time since I read the first one but I found it so easy to get back into this world. I love all its politics and danger. We get to meet a lot more characters and the world is getting a little more complex so it sucked me in.Alivia has an interesting character development path in this one. Her reaction to certain things (mostly of the romance variety) at the end frustrated me. But we get some interesting plot developments so I'm curious to see what happens next!Check out more spoi [...]

    7. Well well. This book is even better than the first. The first was the set up this is the continuation. I'm just so impressed that I have found a new vampire story that's actually riveting and original.

    8. This was a really good book and follow up to House of Royals. Alivia knows that she's going to die from her human life and come back as a Born Vampire. She knows that the King will come to see if she's his reincarnated wife - the Queen. At the end of the first book, Alivia wants revenge on Jasmine and to take the House from her since it's what she loves. Jasmine took what Alivia loved by killing Ian but no one knew that he would come back as a Born Vampire. The small town of Silent Bend is stuck [...]

    9. This is not a standalone. You need to read book one to understand everything taking place in book two.Alivia is back and she's ready to battle. After what Jasmine put her through, Alivia is determined to take the House from her. But that won't be without its problems. She needs to build her own group of vampires. Luckily, she's able to sway some of Jasmine's over to her side. Jasmine isn't giving up without a fight, however. The King is also coming and preparations need to be made.Alivia kicked [...]

    10. ok first of allI am really amazed of how much i am enjoying this series, i found myself missing my tram stop because i am so into the book. Let me tell you what i like: 1. I like Alivia A LOT! this is not a good girl that learns to be brave. This is a brave girl, period. A girl that notices the power she has in her own hands and shows it regally. 2. I like how the secondary characters start playing a more important role and their stories are told i love Cameron!3. I actually like the fact that i [...]

    11. I won’t ruin this for you with any spoilers. Suffice it to say, the keyword here is anticipation. I received an ARC of House of Pawns and didn't stop reading until I devoured the whole thing. Keary Taylor's follow-up to House of Royals is equally as engrossing as its predecessor. Keary knows how to develop a character so that I forget I’m reading about a character and, instead, fall head first into a mesmerizing tale I’m unwilling to put down until I turn that last page. In this installmen [...]

    12. Another great installment in the House of Royals series. I'm loving the characters and all the fun twists the author created. This is a must read series! Five glittery stars!

    13. Ugh!What was this book about? Alivia building her house and not much else. Of course it ended where it did. So frustrating. Obviously the novels are short just to entice the reader to keep buying more. But dang it, I really like the characters. They are what make this series. I really want to know what happens with them, but to end the novel on a cliffhanger is so frustrating, and to make the reader pay for more to find out what happens when a novella could have been a novel is so wrong.Note. On [...]

    14. Another fantastic book. Even better than the first and that is pretty hard to match. The second book starts off where the first book ended. The story continues to develop that will keep u turning the page. By the end of the book, I didn’t realize I was at the end until I turned the page and it said the end. I looked over and it was Two in the morning. I don’t know how I fell asleep with my heart racing.Only in Alivia POV. We are introduced to several new characters. No sex. Mild kissing. Lots [...]

    15. Turmoil in town and in Alivia's heart. More of her family history comes to light, and finally she stands before the biggest decision she has ever had to make. Is she going to join the Family fascinating stuff.

    16. LoveThe end!!! That has me on edge!! What a way to end this book. Now I'm on the next to see how that cliff hanger ends!

    17. Need to be longer These books need to be longer or I need to slow down reading. I finished this book in 4 hours. Amazing

    18. Totally intriguing. Dynamic characters. Unexpected plot twists. On to the next book in the series to see what wonders it reveals.

    19. **WARNING ~ Contains spoilers for book one, House of Royals**I had the distinct privilege of reading House of Pawns well before its release, courtesy of the fabulous Keary Taylor. It more than lived up to any expectations I had for it.After the way that House of Royals had ended, I was left reeling. I didn’t know what to think, what to do, how I was going to cope until House of Pawns came out. It was a cliffhanger for the ages. Ian was alive, despite definitely being murdered and buried. Ian w [...]

    20. *I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. But I totally would have bought it anyway.I have said it before and I will say it againKeary Taylor can write and she can write very well. You get so caught up in everything going on that before you know it you are done with the book.As many reviewers have said this book picks up directly from the moment the first book ends, I admittedly had to go back a little bit to refresh my memory but after that it took off. So Ian is at her [...]

    21. 4.5 StarsFull Review:*I received a free ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.*I just knew this book would be amazing after the things that happened in the first one, and I'm so happy that I was right! This book was everything I expected and more. The blurb is spot on—it promises angst and conflict, and it delivers. I will unashamedly admit I stayed up until 5 in the morning just to read it in one sitting. And I got way too into it! (Not that there is such a thing [...]

    22. Loved this book!Although I don't love the cover as much as House of Royals lovely front, the gorgeous raven and great title still grab me. The pictures fits perfectly with the series' dark, mysterious, yet current themes. It's a great cover. But enough about the outside. Let's get to the part that counts, the inside!I can't delve into any plot details because it could easily spoil the surprises Keary places in the nooks and crannies of her work, and this series needs to be enjoyed spoiler free! H [...]

    23. * I was lucky enough to receive an ARC edition of this book, in return for an honest review. *Amazing! I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t stop! Keary Taylor keeps delivering on an exciting story line and keeps her characters fresh. House of Pawns, (book 2), House of Royals, (Book 1).We literally pick up in this volume exactly where we left off in the first book. Alivia opens the door to a major plot twist as this, the second book begins; I’m sure we have not seen all the spirals thi [...]

    24. I rather enjoyed the first book in this series ( House of Royals ) , it was a nice easy read , but with a rather good plot and i really came to like Alivia. So i’d been waiting about for this book for a while, soon as i spotted it on my list, i had a gander on the good ol’ amazon, and the rest as we say , is history.House of Pawns picks up right where the previous book left us with THAT plot twist!Which is pretty fantastic really , Liv is just as stubborn and bad ass as ever , refusing to do [...]

    25. Born to be No one's PawnHouse of Pawns is a thrilling, fast-paced novel. It picks up just where the first book end and runs like the wind. For the most part it seems that Jasmine is left behind while Alivia figures out Ian, her own house and the coming of the King, but she is still there, lingering in the background. I absolutely loved this book, I loved the emotional ties, and if you have ever read my other reviews before, you'll know I'm a big fan of character growth-which this book had in spa [...]

    26. I received an ARC, in exchange for an honest review. House of Pawns picks up where House of Royals ended, with Ian making a surprising appearance. There was so much intensity in this book. Between Alivia and Ian, between Alivia and the towns people, and between Alivia and the House. Alivia decides that she won't leave her fate up for anyone and takes matters into her own hands. She plays a very dangerous game with Jasmine, which ultimately costs her relationship with Ian. There is definitely pai [...]

    27. House of Pawns is the second book following Taylor’s House of Royals. This book jumps right back where Taylor left us grasping, which I love! Folks, I devoured this one in 48 hours during a workweek. We are immediately submerge back into Alivia’s world in Southern Mississippi where she has inherited a mansion, a chance at immortality pending violent death, and a vampire coven. Alivia’s character matures greatly in the second book. I thought the well established and brilliant theme of suppr [...]

    28. This is the 2nd book in the series and you must read the first one in order to understand what happens in this book. The author picks up from the first book and you get some of your questions answered. The characters come together and so much more happens in this book. You still feel as you are part of the house with them and experience everything that happens.Alivia has finally come to terms as to what she will be one day and now she must take care of her house. With Jasmine trying to set her u [...]
