    1. Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this ARC!I was pretty much hooked from page one with the immersive D&D online virtual gaming setup, but this was just the intro for us poor readers. The rest of the novel is a tour-de-force romp through a MUCH larger virtual realm full of trapped individuals very nicely reminiscent of .hack video game or especially the Anime (or manga) of Sword Art Online. Was I absolutely thrilled by this? You bet! And let us not forget Ready Player One or movies like the Ga [...]

    2. Powerfully driven SF which is set almost entirely in a virtual reality world, in which there are a number of very different environments known as rifts. Each has its own flavour and operates by its own rules, which are imposed upon the players. Some rogue players exist who have powers which, in this context, might be described as miraculous. Both depth of characters and the nature of the story slowly emerge from what I'd like to describe as a 'fog of gaming' (analogous to 'fog of war') - but whil [...]

    3. A glitch-free cyberpunk novel, deeply set in the heart of The Game. Put on your Mindware™ full-body VR suit and enjoy the ride through the dreamscape and seven rifts of pure entertainment: Fantasy, Wild West, Sci-Fi, Racing, Adventure, Life S(t)imulation, and, last but not least, WAR!The writing is superb. The characters (which I should probably better call avatars) are distinct and anything but flat, and their dialogue is just great. The different worlds emerge before your eyes. This sounds l [...]

    4. Wow! This is one helluva cool original story! It takes a simple concept - playing video games - and infuses horror in it, exploring nefarious mind-gaming technology one cannot escape, due to a glitch. The year is 2087. A wheelchair-bound BAD_KITTY_69 has been playing Massive Multi-player Online Dreamscape game (the newest craze in the gaming world) for 7 hours with her boyfriend DASHING_WILLIAM_19. They have crossed the forests of Sloghin and are close to the river Andorren when the glitch occurs [...]

    5. Straight out, I will admit I am neither an avid gamer or a fan of the science fiction genre, however, I was fascinated by this book from the very beginning. I’ve always loved the concept of a fully immersive gaming experience and The Seventh Glitch takes the reader into that idea.Kitty is a newbie gamer, tagging along with her more experienced partner. After a spell goes awry, she’s forced to team up with Lucy to work her way through the rifts searching for her friend and hope to get to the [...]

    6. When I heard about this book, it reminded me a bit of the original Tron a movie from when I was younger. I do like Sci-fi, but I don’t really play video games. I am familiar with them from my son. There’s usually a quest or objective and you have to defeat monsters or obstacles along the way. Sometimes the path you take isn’t straight forward. There are times when you have to collect artifacts, tools or weapons that you will need later to level up. That’s really about all you HAVE to kno [...]

    7. I confess I’m not a Gamer (player of video games) and after experiencing the realism of Ronel Van Tonder’s latest novel, I probably never will be. Even non-Gamers know there is a movement afoot to make playing as immersive as possible and that is the premise the writer takes for this amazing and original tale. What if, using some advanced software and a fully wearable suit that allows bio-feedback as events befall you, a player could participate not as an avatar on a monitor but in the body [...]

    8. I’m not a gamer, but I found the novel terrifyingly gripping and immersive. One day the real and virtual world might collide and one of them might take over: a possibility in the future, who knows, right? The Seventh Glitch is a Cyberpunk novel, with a great, fast paced story about Kitty, a player trapped inside the online dreamscape of The Game – whose Mindware was programmed to operate like a dream; an incredibly lucid and astoundingly vivid dream.I could visualize all the creatures – Th [...]

    9. The premise of this story is fascinating. Players leave their bodies at home while their consciousness roams the different worlds of The Game. Lots of interesting food for thought there, especially since a glitch has left our main characters stuck. There was a lot of suspense throughout, and a few mysteries that set up right from the beginning that caught my interest. In general, there was a lot of action, but what I actually found most interesting was the lives of the players outside of The Game [...]

    10. Never a boring moment well written, the visuals this book brings to the brain are awesome- incredibly engaging. One of the first parts of the game in the book I was like "That is coolI want to play this".But Its about more than Virtual Reality and games. Its suspenseful, you can't be certain of why the games glitched or which route the characters will go but its a joy to find out.The main character is incredibly well developed- you feel like you are there with them and the other characters are al [...]

    11. This was my first venture into Cyberpunk - and I have to tell you it was quite a ride! Lots of action, unpredictable events, things as a non-gamer I totally did not expect and all told with a wonderful sense of humour. Take if from me, if you buy this wonderful book from Ronel Van Tonder you will not be disappointed!

    12. I received a digital copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Unlike most books that are set in an immersive, virtual reality, The Seventh Glitch really pulls you into the game making you feel like you're actually there. We follow Kitty and Lucy across all these different game worlds, encounter all these different people, and face all these different obstacles. All throughout the book you're wondering what the end of the game is, how to get there, and if you can even trust the perso [...]
