    1. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review from the author and LOP . I really enjoyed this story lots of action ,mystery and suspense .College life with vampires and werewolves I found it a unique and very enjoyable read .I love that this isn't like all the other vampire books out there the bloodline, protectors and these vampires aren't written like all the others the author did a great job .I quickly became attached to the characters ,the author does a great job of creating a world [...]

    2. I received this book in exchange for an honest review by the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on I thought the story started a little too slow and too many things were repeated over and over. However, once I got further into the book the story started flowing nicely. The story is about vampires and werewolves but it was more focused on the characters and their personalities and not about them being vampires. I like the characters and the "feel" of their personalities and they devel [...]

    3. Grade: A-Generally, I can take or leave vampire/werewolf tales. I am not a giant fan of them, because usually they are overdone. Anna Applegate does a great job of interesting me in a mixed vampire/werewolf novel. Her characters are lively, they have a bit of mystery, and this isn’t your typical vampire/werewolf tale. The main character is a typical tomgirl, except for her soft side. She can play sports, kick butt in kickboxing, and generally run circles around you, but she doesn’t plan outfi [...]

    4. "One of the most beautiful qualities of friendship is to understand and to be understood." ~ Lucius SenecaBook 1 in the Ariya Adam's trilogy's biggest theme to me was "friendship." This Lucius Annaeus Seneca quote was extremely relevant because this group of friends truly had to be accepting and understanding of each other in order for their friendships to survive. In life you often find out things about the people you love that you have to learn to "accept" even if you don't initially understan [...]

    5. I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.Firstly I would like to thank Anna Applegate, author of Protected for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.I got this book from Lovers of Paranormal Group of under the Read to Review theme. Here we meet Ariya who was content with her life; she has awesome friends who love her and care for her with a to-die-for best friend Caroline who supports her always, no matter what. [...]

    6. I received this book by the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on , in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!Ariya is a senior at Kingsbrook College located in the small town Mineral Point, Michigan. Her roommate and best friend, Caroline, came back from summer break with a new beau, Nick. Ariya's other best friend, always-there-for-you-big-teddybear-shoulder-to-cry-on-guy Riley, introduces her to a new transfer student, James. Could he be a new lov [...]

    7. I was given this book to read ahead of the ARC copy of the second book in the series, Awakened as a R2R.After Twilught I generally avoid vampire and werewolf combination books as I feel I have 'been there, done that'. This, then, was a surprisingly good read. Nothing like a vampire and werewolf story you expect. The fact that they were vampires and werewolves was almost incidental. The characters were well written and I quickly got to know and like them. I felt some apprehension when the dreaded [...]

    8. I was given this book in exchange for a honest review (LOP)I have to admit that this started out slow but in a good way, you got a lot of the character dynamic which made me want to keep reading. Ariya is staring her senior year and feeling very emotional, her best friend Caroline, came back to school with a new boyfriend that wants to transfer to be close to her and Riley drops a bomb on her about his true feelings. She meets and is very attracted to James who has big secrets he is unwilling to [...]

    9. I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal).Ariya went from being a college student on the verge of graduating to an Innocent, savior of the vampire race. She learns that she is the only living creature who can save a vampire from a true death (True Blood reference haha). As if this wasn't enough to deal with, she also falls deeply in love with her Protector and struggles with her feelings of inadequacies, compared to the supernaturals who are fated to pro [...]

    10. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. LOP R2RI really enjoyed this book. Ariya is a normal college student, has great parents, and a good life. Then things start to unravel. The book occasionally was a tad bit slow and sometimes felt a little "Twilight" to me, but on the whole I completely enjoyed it. I was anxious to read the second book, which is always a good thing!! Thank you!

    11. Protected by Anna ApplegateRating:  5/5  ~      ***I was gifted this book by the Author herself, in exchange for an honest review through NerdGirl***WARNING SOME SPOILERS BELOWHOLY DAMN. HOLY DAMN. HOLY DAMN.That is what mostly ran through my mind while reading this book. I honestly could not give this book enough stars to show how amazing it is. I was hooked from start until the end. I was left with wanting more and that is the feeling I look for when picking up a book. Anna Applegate di [...]

    12. I was offered this book in exchange for an honest review.First of all, this book has no chill – and I mean this in the best way possible. This is not one of those novels where you have to grin and bear the first few chapters before it moves into the exciting parts, it STARTS OFF exciting. I know right? WICKED! I felt from the first few pages I was hooked and I was finding this extremely hard to put down – even at 2 o’clock in the morning.Ariya is a college student whose first two years see [...]

    13. I want to start off by saying that I absolutely love paranormal reads.  Especially those that have a mix of the paranormal characters.  Like vampires and werewolves or add in some witches or even some new characters that are not your normal everyday paranormal.  With that being said, I really did like this book.  I didn't love it, but I did enjoy  it.  It felt more like a young adult series than an adult series, considering the boy  drama that seemed a little more high school than colleg [...]

    14. I received this book in exchange for an honest review by the Author. This book did start off slow for me, but once things started to happen I was fully engaged. We have romance, secrets and forbidden feelings. Sounds right up my alley!Ariya is entering her senior year of college. She might think this will be just a year to catch up with her friends and prepare for graduation, but she doesn't know how her world is about to change. I liked Ariya as the main character. She was easy to relate to.Ther [...]

    15. Protected is an interesting book written by Anna Applegate. This author found a new twist on the often covered topic of vampires which was great in my eyes. This series has some promise and is definitely interesting, but I found that it started of very slow. I understand setting up the story, but it went a little excessive and seemed a little pointless going excessively over the routine over college students. It took quite a long time to get to even a hint of the paranormal, it was about a third [...]

    16. I’m an avid lover of all things paranormal and especially vampires add to that some passionate romance and I’m hooked. Things started off a little slow but things really heated up after a while. I can say that the main storyline was something I had never seen before so it was nice having a fresh perspective. In this the first of the series it’s more romance and character development than paranormal which I think worked well to set us up for the rest of the series, and give us something wor [...]

    17. Reviewed for Confessions from RomaholicsReview at Confessions from RomaholicsThis is the first book to Anna Applegate’s, Ariya Adams Trilogy! In this trilogy we follow Ariya as she starts her senior year at Kingsbrook College, a small school located within Mineral Point, Michigan, a town barely on the map. Ariya and her best friend, Caroline, are sharing an apartment together, as they have for the past 3 years. But almost from day one, Ariya has noticed bizarre things happening.Ariya can’t q [...]

    18. Ok, normally when I write a review for books that make up a series, I usually read the first book, write my review, read the next one and write the review for that one and so on. But with this series, I just COULDN’T STOP! I finished the first one and was so caught up in the story of these wonderful characters that there was no way for me to stop and write the review. I rushed right into my kindle store and 1-clicked the second book as quick as possible and dove right back into the story and c [...]

    19. Find my review here:bookwormbridgetteWhen you begin reading this book you come across Ariya Adams…. A normal college senior coming back from summer break and beginning her emotional senior year… wrapping up things with her friends and dealing with all that it includes to be on the final leg of college… However, we find out that Ariya is no normal girl… Ariya is a very special young lady and being such a special one, she has protectors around to keep her safe. Meeting Caroline was a treat [...]

    20. I started reading this book without first reading the synopsis, so I didn't know what to expect. I have just recently started reading more indie writing, and I am always left with a great respect for self-publishers.My first impression of the main character was that she was too trusting and a bit gullible to be the heroine. With that said, as the story progressed, I found myself becoming more and more invested in the characters. It was easy to feel connected to them and have fun along the way.Th [...]

    21. While reading this book, I believe that I became more confused as the story went along. There were some aspects of it, which I knew I had figured out right away, but then others I still don’t understand completely what had happened. This book was a bit slow to begin with, and I couldn’t really get into the story until about halfway through. The characters that were written, although they were older (all adults) they also had that teenager sense about them? I don’t really know how to word [...]

    22. ***Review From Michele For The Nerd Girl Page *****I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.**Ariya Adams is a senior at a small town university and like any other college student she goes to parties, sporting events and best of all is best friends with her roommate Caroline. In the best she has not had the best of luck in the relationship area so when she meets James she hopes thats about to change. Not long into getting to know James though the normal world she thought [...]

    23. Overall- I really enjoyed this book! I definitely suggest this book for anyone that is interested in a trilogy that is a young adult/new adult paranormal mystery romance! This book has it all. Even though the beginning is slow, as there is a little bit of build up, once youre past the first couple of chapters, the novel really picks up, and the story line truly begins! I love that this book has such build up, the plot, the characters, the love story, everything flows magically. There is plenty o [...]

    24. This is the first book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy. Anna Applegate really recreated that feeling of college life. It's been almost 20 years since undergrad but this book took me back. I really connected with the main character too, Ariya Adams. What's up with all the hot guys though -- loved it and can't wait to find out more about them (James and Nick) as well as Caroline (best friend). In Ariya's world, vampires are good and werewolves are crazy and bad. There are hints to other types of supern [...]

    25. 'm going to start off by saying wow!I just loved this book once I started I could not put it down. They story was amazing. I loved the mystery of what was going on and who everyone was.We start off with Ariya and her bast friend coming back to collage for their senior year. Ariya and her friend Caroline head to party and that's when Ariya finds James. Its like she can't stop watching him and she can't stop the overwhelming feeling in her gut that something is just off. That's when the story star [...]

    26. Favorite Line “Honestly, James, do you have to ask if I’ll have you?”What a fabulously frustrating story!! I say frustrating because the oh so sexy vampire is sooooo hard headed!! Oh James is yummy, sorry I'm getting off track!Ariya is a senior in a small town college and she loves her life! Her best friend and roommate is Caroline. Riley is her other best friend (who is also in love with her) Then James and a nick start school and oh my nothing is the same! Ariya finds out she is part of [...]

    27. Ariya is your average college girl who is entering her senior year and learns she isn't so normal after all and neither are some of her closest friends. I really liked this story. It was a little slow to start but after a couple of chapters the story pics up and you want to continue to read to find out what happens next. It is a great supernatural story with hot vampires and nasty werewolves. But the book is also about friendship, trust, and loyalty. I really liked the characters: Ariya who is t [...]

    28. Aside from some editing errors, this is a great story that captures the essence of true friendship in a small town with a group of tight knit friends. There is a big secret being kept from Ariya that includes love, betrayal and a bit of obsession. Protected was easy to get into and kept a steady pace throughout the book, though I admit there were a few time I had to stop myself from scrolling ahead to see what was going to happen next, instead of reading through the suspense as danger comes from [...]

    29. Thrilling mystery and romanceI really became enthralled in the characters and the story line was intelligent and suspenseful. it kept me guessing throughout it. I loved watching the characters develop and each one was interesting. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends. I can not wait to dive into book 2 of series!

    30. It was a little too similar to Twilight for me, but I enjoyed the different paranormal viewpoint on vampires. I just wish this had more original content. However, I did fall in love with the characters and I'm excited to find out what will be thrown their way in the second book!
