    1. The nebulous end of the seventies continuing on into the indefinable beginning of the 80's. This book took place just exactly then. Being born a few years into the decade, I wasn't sure what to make of this. Why does Lloyd sound exactly like Janice from the Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem band (plus all of the songs sound like they could be written by them).I just love this book. I lost it for a number of years and now have to read it at least five times a year.

    2. I found a stack of books from my childhood in my garage. I decided to read a few of them and this was one of them. I don't remember reading this as a kid but I enjoyed it as an adult. It's a fast and fun read. The crazy actions and ideas of the children in this book remind me of all the silly things I used to do as a child. The newspaper the girls created certainly gave me a few laughs.

    3. A fun, light-hearted romp, full of wonderfully quirky characters. I'd read this back in grammar school, and recently tracked it down thanks to GR's What's the Name of That Book?? group. :) As an adult, this is still an amusing and enjoyable read.
