    1. A wonderful subject and excellent writing. A story that moved my heart and inspired me to be a better man. Well done and worth reading.

    2. I love true stories of courageous people. Dr. Johnson played a most important role in the American Civil Rights movement of the 60's. He inspired others to take the high road. He did this through being a voice of reason and humility. He followed with a demonstration through his actions. Heroes walk among us. Aaron Johnson inspires us to live uncommon lives which yearn to make the world a better place.

    3. Awesome book about a great man of courage and faith. A man who made a real difference. When this was on my to read shelf I kept putting it off because I thought it would be a dry text book like tome. I couldn't have been more wrong. It reads like a novel. It at times had me laughing others crying. I so enjoyed it. Also, it was a very good tutorial about the Civil Rights Movement that I only thought I knew about. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

    4. Inspiring story of a North Carolinian who overcame great obstacles and has made, and is still making an impact on his world. The audio book is excellent also.

    5. ‘Autobiography’ is a genre which can be a bit of a turnoff for some. Worse still when the person is unknown to the reader. However Man from Macedonia is an exception to the rule. This is the powerful and gripping tale of a man so instrumental to the Civil Rights movement that at one point in the book he is successfully negotiating a resolution between Klan members and Panthers. The book is a fascinating cocktail of homespun stories of a sharecropper’s son growing up in the rural south, ins [...]
